Rules

  • The competition is open to anyone regardless of whether they are a student, professional photographer or hobbyist.
  • All submissions must be accompanied by a lighting setup diagram which can be downloaded free of charge from http://www.kevinkertz.com/fm/LightingSetup.psd.zip
  • All entries must be submitted using your unique registration number as the file name.
  • You may enter as many unique entries into each challenge as you like as long as they comply with the rules and the guidelines for the challenge and the images are taken by you and you have the right to legally submit them.
  • No digital manipulation of images is allowed unless specifically specified in the description of a particular challenge.
  • No late entries will be accepted under any circumstances.
  • Failure to comply with and accept all of the rules or any of the guide lines of the challenges will disqualify any entry.
    • Entries will be judged on:
      • Originality
      • Ingenuity
      • Mastery of the specify task
      • Technical Proficiency
  • The judge’s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • In the case of a dispute over the authenticity of the submission with regards to adhering to the guideline for the task, the panel reserves the right to request that the unaltered source images be provided.
  • By entering the monthly challenges, you will give non-exclusive rights to the Organisers and the Sponsors to use your name and the image in connection with the competition. You also certify that you hold the rights to grant such permission. Winning images will only be used in connection with the Master of Light Challenge and accompanying publicity and will include appropriate photo credits. Such usage will be limited to a period of two years from the announcing of the Master of Light winner.
  • The Organisers and the Sponsors will not be held liable for any damages, direct or consequential arising by virtue of any aspect directly or indirectly related to the competition. Furthermore you agree to hold the Organisers and the Sponsors harmless against any claim that may arise relating to any image you submit as part of the competition.
  • Due to territorial issues with the sponsors, only South African residents will be eligible to enter the competition.
  • Prizes may not be exchanged for Cash.
  • Monthly winners will be notified via email.
  • The Final winners will be announced at the prize giving to be held Hp Stand (or alternate location) at the 2010 PHOTO & FILM EXPO which will be held at the Coca-Cola Dome between the 15th & 17th October.
